DESCRIPTION

Omega Baby Ploprof Ref. 166.0250 – Rare Vintage Diver on Mesh Bracelet

Omega is one of Switzerland’s most respected watchmakers, celebrated for its pioneering role in diving technology and professional-grade tool watches. Introduced in the 1970s, the Ploprof (short for Plongeur Professionnel) was developed in collaboration with COMEX and Jacques Cousteau for deep-sea exploration, making it one of the most robust and distinctive dive watches ever produced. The Baby Ploprof Ref. 166.0250, a more wearable version of the original, carries forward the same professional DNA while offering improved versatility. With its bold case design, bi-directional bezel, and rare period-correct mesh bracelet, this reference stands out as a highly collectible model that embodies Omega’s legacy of innovation in underwater horology.

Key Details To Consider

This Omega Baby Ploprof Ref. 166.0250 is presented in full steel, all original, and unpolished condition. The case remains crisp with only natural wear and tear, free from severe scratches or dings.

Its original bezel is exceptionally well-preserved, showing no cracks and rotating smoothly and securely in both directions. The original tritium dial is pristine, with indices aged to a warm yellow tone, perfectly matched by the hands.

What makes this piece especially remarkable is its original, period-correct, and very rare mesh bracelet. Unlike the more common standard bracelet versions, this configuration is highly collectible and significantly more sought after by collectors.

The movement is exceptionally clean, as shown in the photographs, and was professionally serviced in September 2025. It has also been pressure tested to 3ATM (30m). The watch had never been opened before, with our watchmaker being the first to work on it, and it still retains the original red Omega seal on the case back.

A spectacular example, offered directly from the original owner, and an outstanding opportunity for collectors of rare Omega dive watches.
