DESCRIPTION

Rolex Datejust 36 with Rare White Buckley Dial

Rolex, a Swiss luxury watchmaker founded in 1905, stands as a symbol of excellence, innovation, and prestige in the watch industry. Known for pioneering many of the most significant advances in watchmaking, including the first waterproof wristwatch, the Oyster, and the perpetual self-winding mechanism, Rolex has established itself as a benchmark of quality and reliability.

This Rolex Datejust 36 features a dial type that is named after John Buckley, a passionate Rolex collector and trader who owns Tuscany Rose in NYC. While most Rolex dials feature applied numerals or indexes, the Buckley dial stands out with its printed Roman numerals. Initially unpopular, it’s now highly sought after.

Buckley dials feature a closed outer minute track with tritium dots, black-painted Roman numerals, and matching black hands. This unique design makes the watch stand out. Rumor has it these dials were created for easier readability, though Rolex has never confirmed this.

Key Details To Consider

This Rolex Datejust 16030, featuring a full steel Jubilee bracelet, is in excellent all-original condition. The case has thick, well-preserved lugs with no signs of excessive polishing.

The rare white Buckley dial has aged gracefully and remains in great condition, making it highly sought after by collectors. The Jubilee bracelet, showing light stretch consistent with its age, fits a 7.5” (19cm) wrist comfortably.

The case numbers are sharp and fully visible, with a serial number of 7.4 million, dating the watch to 1982. While the movement history is unknown, it has been tested and runs well, keeping accurate time.
