DESCRIPTION
Rolex Day-Date 1803 “Ghost Havana/Caramel Dial”
The Rolex Day-Date, introduced in 1956, quickly became known as the “President’s Watch” due to its association with world leaders, visionaries, and influential figures. As the first wristwatch to display both the day and date spelled out in full, it set a new standard in luxury watchmaking. The reference 1803, produced during the mid-20th century, is one of the most iconic iterations of the model, featuring the classic pie-pan dial and automatic movement. Often crafted in precious metals, the Day-Date was designed as a statement of prestige and refinement. The rare ghost Havana/Caramel dial variant adds to its desirability, offering a unique warm tone that makes this particular example especially collectible among enthusiasts and connoisseurs of vintage Rolex.
Key Details To Consider
Rolex Day-Date 1803 presented in all original, never polished condition.
The case remains untouched with its factory finish preserved throughout, while the plexiglas crystal retains its original marks and light scratches, adding to the authenticity of the watch.
The standout feature of this piece is its extremely rare ghost Havana/Caramel dial, a striking variation that is exceptionally difficult to find. The dial is flawless and free from scratches, displaying a warm and unusual tone that makes it one of the most sought-after dials among collectors.
The movement was professionally serviced in September 2025 and runs with precision. It has also been pressure tested to 3ATM (30m). All case numbers remain perfectly visible and intact, with the serial number in the 5 million range dating the watch back to 1997.
Completing the watch is a new handmade 20/16mm brown calfskin leather strap fitted with a gold-plated Rolex pin buckle.
An outstanding and highly collectible Day-Date with one of the rarest dials ever produced by Rolex.
