This stunning and very rare Rolex Explorer 1016 is presented in excellent to like new condition, showcasing the enduring appeal of one of Rolex’s most celebrated tool watches.

The stainless steel case has been professionally polished only once to Rolex standards, maintaining very thick and sharp lugs that could easily pass for an unpolished example. Its black matte dial, from a later production period, displays a striking heavy yellow patina spread evenly across the indices with perfectly matching hands. Two very faint scratches are present between 8 and 9 o’clock but remain barely noticeable depending on lighting and angle. The lume continues to react under UV light, highlighting the watch’s authenticity.

The original oyster riveted bracelet is in very good condition and retains all its links, adding to the completeness of this example. The movement was professionally serviced in September 2025 and runs reliably, with the watch also having been pressure tested to 3ATM (30m).

A truly rare and highly collectible Explorer 1016, this piece stands out as an exceptional example of Rolex’s heritage.
