Rolex GMT-Master
Rolex is a Swiss watch manufacturer that has been around since the early 1900s. The brand built its reputation on reliable, tool-oriented watches designed for real-world use, and over time those same watches became some of the most recognized and collected pieces in the market. Rolex produces everything in-house, from movements to cases, and maintains tight quality control across its lineup. The company's watches tend to hold their value well, which is a big part of why there is such a strong secondary market for them.
The GMT-Master was introduced in the 1950s in collaboration with Pan American Airways, designed for pilots and crew who needed to track two time zones at once. It does this with a 24-hour hand and a rotating bezel, which together let the wearer read a second time zone at a glance. The reference 1675 was produced from the early 1960s through 1980, making it one of the longer-running references in the GMT-Master line. It used the caliber 1570 movement, a solid and well-regarded automatic that was standard across several Rolex sports models of that era.
The 1675 is one of the more sought-after vintage Rolex references, largely because of its long production run, variety of dial and insert configurations, and the fact that it sits at an accessible entry point compared to some other vintage Rolex models. The "Pepsi" bezel variant, with its red and blue coloring, is particularly popular among collectors. Examples from the 1970s with original, unpolished cases and correct components are increasingly hard to find in honest condition, which drives interest in well-preserved specimens.
Key Details To Consider
This Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675 is a well-preserved example from the late 1970s, offered in original, never-polished condition with matching box and papers. The case retains razor-sharp lugs with factory bevels and finish throughout, showing only the normal signs of wear you would expect from a watch of this age. The serial number falls in the 5.7 million range, dating production to around 1978, and all engravings on the case remain perfectly legible.
The dial is an original MK4 example in very good condition, with an even yellow patina across all the plots and matching hands. This kind of consistent aging is exactly what collectors look for in a vintage piece, and it adds a lot of character without detracting from readability. The red-back Pepsi bezel insert is also original and in excellent shape, with strong color and minimal fading.
The jubilee bracelet has very little stretch and is sized to fit a wrist of approximately 7.5 inches (19 cm). Additional links can be provided on request if needed. The movement was professionally serviced in October 2026 and has been pressure tested to 3 ATM (30 meters), so it is running correctly and in good mechanical order.
The watch comes from the original family and is accompanied by its original box and papers, punched and stamped by a European dealer and dated to 1978. For a vintage 1675, having the correct provenance documentation in this condition is a meaningful bonus and speaks to the careful way this watch has been kept over the decades.
